Ebenezer Okai attended the School of Administration, University of Ghana in 1980, and graduated in June 1984. After moving to London in 1985, he then enrolled in the ACCA and graduated in December 1988. In November 1990 Ebenezer joined Leroy Reid & Co and subsequently became a partner in April 1996.

He began his career in the accountancy profession in 1989 in Jamaica where he began his training with Wisynco Trading Limited as an Accountants Trainee before moving on to CarnaudMetal Box Jamaica Limited and Davon Corporation Limited where he held the position of an Accountant before moving to the United Kingdom.
